This weekend in New York at The New School, there's a program over the course of the weekend that presents a retrospective and conference celebrating the 20th anniversary of American Documentary | POV.
The conference is organzied by Michelle Materre, assistant professor of Media Studies at the New School, and POV's executive director, Simon Kilmurry. The opening film will be Katy Chevigny's Election Day on Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m.
There will be panels and special programs and two screening tracks at two different locations showcasing the stellar nonfiction work that POV has produced and screened over the course of the last two decades, including Farmingville, Tongues Untied, The Camden 28, Two Towns of Jasper and Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela.
