The Sundance Institute is bringing a great program to New York City (Brooklyn, to be exact) for eleven days, starting the 29th of this month through the 8th of June at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). The program includes films from the '08 Sundance Film Festival accompanied by filmmaker Q&As (ten narratives and twelve docs with a total of 10 New York premieres), a day of 36 shorts from the fest on Sunday, June 1st, live musical and theater performances, and more. Nanette Burstein's American Teen will be featured as the opening night film, followed by a "prom" afterparty.
The program will also include a free screenplay reading of Alicia Eran's Hammer and Anvil, directed by Michael Greif (Grey Gardens and Rent), as well as selections from the festival's New Frontier program showcasing pieces by artists that converge different types of media; experimental works by Graffiti Research Lab and Daniel Rozin will be featured.
