Just had to post quickly about a screening since it's happening tomorrow night: Wednesday the 22nd at 7:00 p.m., the Maysles Cinema in Harlem will host a screening of DA Pennebaker's Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The film covers the July 3, 1973 historic concert of the "leper Messiah." It was also Bowie's last concert where he performed as Ziggy.
As part of the cinema's summer-long series The Mothership Connection: Summer of Music, this film will play for one night only with the filmmaker in the house for a Q&A. If you've never had the opportunity to listen to and converse with Pennebaker, it's a treat. And he's a filmmaking legend, pure and simple.
