On January 8th and 9th, 2010, Tribeca will present a weekend screening series of six films shortlisted for the 82nd edition of the Oscars. The series is hosted by Tribeca Film Institute's Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund at the Tribeca Cinemas. Curated by the film festival's programming team, the series will enable New Yorkers to see a selection of the documentary contenders shortlisted for the Best Feature Documentary prize. On Friday, Rebecca Cammisa's Which Way Home, which world premiered at Tribeca, will screen at 6:30 p.m. and Cammisa will be there for a post-screening Q&A. At 9:00 p.m., Robert Kenner's Food, Inc. will screen. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Saturday at 1:00 p.m., Mark Hopkins' Living in Emergency will play (world premiered at the Venice Film Festival). At 3:30 p.m., Bill Guttentag and Dan Sturman's Soundtrack for a Revolution (still from film, pictured) will screen. This film also had its world premiere at Tribeca. At 6:00 p.m., Louis Psihoyos' The Cove will play with Psihoyos in the house for a discussion with the audience afterward; The Cove world premiered at Sundance. Lastly, Andy Abrahams Wilson's Under Our Skin plays at 8:30 p.m., another Tribeca world premiere.
